01 · About

Where technical depth
meets product thinking.

I've always believed IT should work for people — not the other way around. As IT Consultant at ALDI DX, I help shape the ALDI Workplace Ecosystem: ensuring end-user devices are intuitive, efficient, and genuinely useful for employees worldwide.

In practice, the role goes well beyond backlog refinement. I design and standardise processes that keep the product team running smoothly — structured backlog refinements and sprint review frameworks that give the team a reliable rhythm to work in. I'm a trusted sounding board for product direction across the team, and have proven I can carry the full Product Owner role when needed — priorities, stakeholder management, and live escalations included.

Before moving into product, I spent years deep in the technical side — System Administrator in small and mid-sized businesses, before specialising as Subject Matter Expert for Windows End-User Devices at ALDI DX. That foundation is what lets me bridge both worlds: technical enough to challenge an architect's assumptions, product-minded enough to keep the focus on the user.

From shipping features to shaping the organisation.

Feb 2025Present

When the team shifted to Agile Ways of Working, I decided to move from a purely technical role into something closer to product management: backlog ownership, process design, stakeholder alignment. After a number of successful projects (learn more) , I was promoted to IT Consultant in October 2025.

My current project: getting Nexthink adopted as the company Digital Employee Experience (DEX) Monitoring platform. That meant doing the market comparison, pitching management, negotiating the contract and of course rolling it out. To push adoption, I built the processes for onboarding stakeholders, put together value cases to drive adoption across the organisation, and kept pushing to maximise the ROI.

  • Pushed Agile adoption across the whole department, not just our team
  • Built the core team processes from scratch: refinements, sprint reviews, all of it
  • Pitched Nexthink to management, closed the contract, and owned the rollout
  • First few thousand endpoints live within two months, now tens of thousands organisation-wide
  • Covered the full Product Owner role during absences, priorities and stakeholder work included

ALDI DX · Senior IT Professional

Engineered the device that everyone uses.

Sep 2022Jan 2025
Joined ALDI DX to work on the Windows End-User Device landscape at scale. Tens of thousands of endpoints across the organisation. I owned three main technical areas and contributed to a lot more on the side.
  • Designed the Zero Trust Client architecture for the full Windows estate
  • Ran hardware portfolio management: vendor decisions, testing pipelines, lifecycle planning
  • Owned driver, BIOS, and firmware deployment across the fleet
  • Contributed to the Citrix Device as a Service project, endpoint encryption management, Group Policies, Citrix environment and automation work

Took the jump. Found the ceiling. Moved on.

Nov 2021Aug 2022
Decided it was time to leave the company that had shaped me and try something new. Took on full sysadmin responsibility across a mid-sized company: support, device management, network, servers, and infrastructure from end to end. I liked the job but it didn't take long for me to realise that I wanted to push myself more and leave my comfort zone, which unfortunately E. Winkemann wasn't the place for. When ALDI reached out, I knew I had to take the jump.
  • VMware vSphere administration for file, Active Directory, and SAP server workloads
  • Designed and introduced the company's first helpdesk solution, from selection through rollout
  • Sophos Intercept X endpoint protection and Sophos Mobile MDM
  • Introduced Microsoft Teams in a hybrid Active Directory environment, with in-person and remote training
  • Management and automated deployment of approximately 250 client systems
  • Created and maintained technical IT documentation

Put the apprenticeship to work.

Jun 2019Oct 2021
First proper role after the apprenticeship, still at the same company but now with real autonomy. Extended the infrastructure work from the training years, introduced a ticket system to bring structure to support, and took on the Microsoft 365 rollout for the whole group. AutoIT and Python kept the repetitive work from piling up.
  • Led the Microsoft 365 rollout for the Burg-Wächter Group: consulting, training, and service provider coordination
  • Introduced a ticket system to formalise the IT support process
  • Windows and Linux server administration on VMware ESXi (Exchange, SAP, MS-CRM)
  • First and second level support, LAN/WLAN, and endpoint management across multiple sites
  • Automation scripting with AutoIT and Python

Learned the trade, properly.

Aug 2016Jun 2019
Three years of formal IT apprenticeship. From early on, actually owning things rather than just observing: introduced the asset management platform, set up the full monitoring infrastructure as the final project, and built the internal knowledge base. By the end, those systems were running under my ownership. The foundation everything else is built on.
  • Final project: Introduced the Check_MK monitoring platform, connecting all central IT components, and became the main owner from that point on
  • Completed with an overall grade of 1.8
  • Introduced Snipe-IT as the company asset management solution and became the main owner
  • VoIP hardware and software installation across both company locations
  • Printer services, internal knowledge base (WordPress), and first/second level support
  • Administration and support of MS Office, Exchange, SAP, and MS-CRM on VMware ESXi with Windows and Red Hat servers

Hardware Portfolio & Vendor Expansion

Goal:Reduction of single-vendor risk

Led the evaluation and rollout of a second hardware vendor for an international deployment. Took end-to-end responsibility for the hardware assessment, management pitches, SLA and support negotiation, through to the full rollout prep: driver and BIOS pipelines, imaging, user-adoption plan, and global communications.

Zero Trust Client

Goal:Deliver a zero trust architecture across the full Windows device fleet

Work Package Lead on a 10-person effort and the department's first real step into Agile. Ran a lightweight version of Scrum with the team wearing multiple hats across roles. Architecture was shaped collaboratively: a core team of three working alongside experts from across the infra teams. Handled project planning and management reporting throughout.

Establishing Agile Ways of Working

Goal:Build sustainable Agile team processes from scratch

Fresh into the Business Analyst role, I drew on the experience from the Zero Trust Client project to support the team on their first Agile journey. Collaborated closely with the incoming PO on shaping the product team, drawing on two years of firsthand experience in it. Built the ceremonies and artefacts from scratch (Refinement, Review, DoR, DoD), ran Jira/Confluence/Miro training, and represented the product in cross-department forums.

Nexthink — Digital Employee Experience

Goal:Establish Nexthink as the organisation-wide DEX monitoring platform

Owned the full lifecycle from blank page to global rollout. A year of market research, PoCs and tool comparisons; pitched to management and secured funding; led contract negotiations; delivered implementation in two months; built the value case for global deployment; cleared Data Protection, Legal and Security; onboarded service and application owners. Scaling continues.

I am happy to work with someone who is so cooperative and solution-oriented!
I really appreciate having you as a calm and objective team mate. Your ability to communicate information clearly and keep a cool head in stressful situations creates a pleasant and productive environment.
With your reliability, I can always count on support and clear answers, which makes collaboration much easier.
You're consistently kind, responsive, and ready to jump in and support as soon as you're available.
You're quick to move from problem to solution even when others are still deep in discussion.
In our meetings, you don't need every detail spelled out - you connect the dots very quickly.
Although you're surrounded by people with a lot more ALDI experience in years, I see that the colleagues listen to you, value your opinion, perspective and your expertise.
You always keep the customer or end user in mind, ensuring their needs are front and centre in everything we do.
You set goals and pursue them with drive, while also knowing when "good enough" is enough.

You bring a consistently positive attitude, even when things get hectic. You're always honest, respectful, and your genuine interest in others' work creates a great atmosphere of collaboration and co-creation.
You are a natural presenter and coach.
Continue facing work with a positive mindset and keep your unique ability to make people focus on what is really important and meaningful.
I have rarely (if ever) met a person that is more positive and enthusiastic in their work environment than you, which you manage to show and share with colleagues without ever feeling overreaching to others.
I deeply appreciate your ability to motivate people and for keeping our agile ceremonies as simple and effective as you possibly can.
Overall I would say we need more people like you. You are not only very competent in what you do, which in addition to that is also accompanied by an extremely professional appearance, you are also simply a very enjoyable person.
Very proactive and structured way of working.
Strong communication skills.

Open to new options that we did not anticipate and adapts them, if it's the best way for our team and the company.
Having a wide network of colleagues to connect on work topics but also sharing insights on other relevant topics and how they are obtained under colleagues.
Super professional, highly regarded by everybody I speak to.
You are a subject matter expert, even when this is no longer your area of responsibility.
A very friendly collaboration based on mutual respect, where any points of criticism were consistently addressed professionally and met with understanding. There has also been a strong willingness to engage in self-improvement, which is highly professional.
